    Ursa is currently seeking an HR Generalist and an Executive Assistant and Office Administrator

    HR Generalist -

    The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

    • Manages the PEO system and communications of benefits programs to employees
    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
    • Participates in developing company goals, objectives and systems.
    • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
    • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.
    • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
    • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
    • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

    What You Have

    • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training and experience.
    • Two to four years of experience in human resource generalist role.
    • Proficiency in MS office and Google Suite
    • Ability to communicate professionally to all levels of management both internally and externally and adapt to changing priorities
    • Ability to learn new software applications as appropriate
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Energetic personality with strong initiative
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Government security experience is a plus

    Executive Assistant & Office Administrator -

    As a fast growing startup we are looking for an executive assistant and office administrator to provide high-level administrative support to the company and senior leadership.

    • Provide ongoing direct support for Senior Leadership, including scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, tracking expenses, and handling routine communications 
    • Coordinate office events, meetings, and calendars
    • Maintain office supplies, office organization, and company records (both digital and hard copy)
    • Manage highly confidential and sensitive information
    • Act as the first point of contact for a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization, maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
    • Support culture and positive office environment
    • Create and develop visual presentations for presentations and meetings, proofreading copy for spelling, grammar, and layout
    • Use judgment in planning, prioritizing, and organizing a diversified workload
    • Plan, implement, and maintain new organizational and planning systems as required by a fast-growing company
    • Make considered recommendations and suggestions for changes in office policies, practices, or procedures
    • Other ad hoc duties as needed

    What You Have

    • 4 year degree preferred
    • 2+ years experience in an administrative role in a professional environment
    • Proficiency in MS office and Google Suite
    • Ability to communicate professionally to all levels of management both internally and externally

    BorgWarner - Sr. Human Resources Generalist

    The HR Generalist administers and provides functional support for multiple areas of Human Resources across our Ithaca based campus, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, HR compliance, employee relations, on-boarding, training, performance management, HRIS maintenance, and employee engagement. This position will provide the tactical HR support for our Ithaca Technical Center. This position facilitates a collaborative environment and implements appropriate change management initiatives. Provides customer service to support the business through the consistent application of Human Resources policies and practices. Demonstrates advanced competency for trouble-shooting and problem solving, and advanced customer and vendor/partner interface skills. Fosters team progress, takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments and creates opportunity where none exists.


    • Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.
    • Coaches managerial staff on interpretation and application of relevant HR law, policies, procedures and programs.
    • Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives including but not limited to salary review, workforce planning, organizational change, on-boarding, job analysis, new hire and exit processes, selection, performance, diversity and leadership initiatives.
    • Manages the relationship with temporary contract agencies and manages temporary /contract employee on-boarding process.
    • Prepares job descriptions and engages in recruitment related activities including: reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting New Hire Orientations, and coordinating any temporary staffing needs.
    • Leads the student cooperative placement and internship programs.
    • Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate and campus policies related to human resources and employee development.
    • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
    • Recommends new approaches, corrective actions, and updates to policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Assists with the administration and implementation of the same.
    • HRIS input and reporting monthly, quarterly and ad hoc metrics and reports.
    • Provides support for the Product Leadership Culture, which establishes BorgWarner as a world-class leader in Powertrain Systems and retains talent that is best in class.
    • Coordinates and conducts internal training programs and evaluates effectiveness.
    • Assists with the development of new programs and initiatives.
    • Participates in and/or leads employee activities and sponsored events.
    • Participates in and/or leads special group projects as required.
    • Assists with Affirmative Action Planning and all required updates, reporting and documentation and ensuring all federal and state requirements are met.
    • Responsible for completing required safety and environmental training, reporting and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and environmental requirements for respective position.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Human Resources
    • 2-4 years related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
    • Minimum 5 years of related experience in a generalist role
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential
    • Ability to interact professionally with all levels within and outside the Company
