    The Human Resource Manager/Recruiter is responsible for all aspects of human resource day to day operations which include: recruitment, community liaison, hiring, on-boarding, employee relations, benefits, compensation, bi-weekly payroll, 401(K) administration and compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations including NYS disability, COBRA and Workers Compensation.

    Recruit for and market Visiting Nurse Service

    • Post open positions on appropriate websites
    • Use social media to source candidates
    • Interface with the community relative to employment brand positioning and recruiting; attend job fairs
    • Build relationships and serve as liaison and point of contact relative to talent acquisition and employment.
    • Attend, coordinate participation and bridge connections between the agency and community resources (i.e. high schools, trade schools, colleges, diversity groups and other external organizations.)
    • Promote awareness of Visiting Nurse Service and its value proposition to the community. Attend health fairs and community networking events such as the Tompkins County Long-term Care Committee.
    • Upon hire, initiate the on-boarding process by developing appropriate orientation plan with trainer.

    Generate the bi-weekly payroll and enter into Paychex system.

    Assist managers in the resolution of employee performance issues. Compose discipline/termination letters; participate in employee terminations.

    Participate in the agency’s Quality Assurance Performance Improvement committee.

    Assist with the coordination of the agency’s Emergency Preparedness Program

    • Update agency program as needed.
    • Conducts annual training for all staff.

    Coordinate the development, and updating of public image brochures and website

    • Update website as needed.
    • Create advertising, brochures etc. for outreach.
    • Update Employee Handbook

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field and prefer certification as PHR.
    • Five years of progressive Human Resource Generalist experience is required. Previous exposure to the medical field preferred.
    • Experience in recruiting using social media.
    • Must have the flexibility to attend events evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Familiarity with website maintenance a plus.
    • Must have sound knowledge of NYS and Federal employment laws and regulations.
    • Payroll experience using PayChex highly desirable but not required.
